Timeline

2005

Nick Pyett and John Roberts complete degrees in Physics at Sheffield University.

2006

Nick starts a career as a professional web designer and software developer.

2007

John starts the Teach First programme as a science teacher in the North West.

2008

John develops Reward System in his school and replaces all paper pastoral tracking in one term and is promoted to senior management in his NQT year.

2009

70,000 pastoral logs made using Reward System in the first academic year for a school of 500 pupils. Highly acclaimed by staff, parents and pupils.

2010

Other schools in the local area begin to use the Reward System with an average of 500 logs per school per day. Ofsted credit the software as "a very effective pastoral management tool." Nick develops a number of commercial website templates which are used across sectors.

2011

Nick and John partner up and following a review Reward System starts a redevelopment, which includes greater integration, parental logins and SMS functionality amongst many other things.

2012

Reward System is featured in Teach First's Policy First document: Breaking down barriers. In the schools who are using the system in 2012 there has been on average 600 logs made per day - well on track for a record year and with over 90% of logs being for positive behaviour.

After years of experience in web development, Nick can develop friendly and secure online solutions with a focus on usability.

Nick's other interests include digital marketing, five-a-side football and live music.

John Roberts
Co-founder

John Roberts

John is passionate about education and enjoys solving problems with creative solutions.

John was a senior school leader in the North West and has subsequently worked in policy, consultancy and businesses related to education.

John is also an established climber, skier and ironman athlete.
